CERN studies and develops continuously new technologies with collaborators!

CERN is active European-wide actor in all research aspects related to facility developing and maintaining particle accelerators. You may be surprised to know how wide variety of technologies are related to this. Particle accelerator facilities are interested in e.g. saving energy, high performance computing, robotics, production management, superconducting magnets and all aspects of imaging.

Tampere has long history in developing superconducting magnets in collaboration with CERN. Read more here.

Currently three initiatives related to research done at CERN are underway

ESKLUSTERI is for launching a project related to superconductivity and low temperature technology. More information: Antti Stenvall, antti.stenvall@tuni.fi

DEACT is for launching a project related to studying the active role of data centers in power systems. More information: Matti Vilkko, matti.vilkko@tuni.fi
