The StreamSTEP EU Project has officially launched, marking a significant milestone in the pursuit of sustainable heating energy solutions for energy-intensive industries. On Nov. 13–14, 2024, the project consortium gathered in Trondheim, Norway, for a collaborative kick-off event featuring strategic discussions, team-building activities, and detailed planning for the project’s ambitious goals.

As the only Finnish partner in this Horizon Europe initiative, Tampere University takes on a vital role through its DARES Research Group, in collaboration with the Process Automation Research Group from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences. Together, these teams will work on advancing dependable process control and optimization strategies. By employing virtual experiments and fine-tuning advanced control strategies, the research aims to enhance heat recovery and reuse, paving the way for more sustainable and efficient industrial practices.

Stay tuned for updates as this project progresses toward shaping a greener future for the process industry. For more information, visit the official EU StreamSTEP Project page.
