Professor John Nietfeld from North Carolina State University will give a presentation at the EduLit November meeting held on November 8. In his presentation, Professor Nietfeld will give a brief overview of The Missions with Monty game-based learning environment, a collaborative project between NC State and Penn State, USA. The Missions with Monty focuses on encouraging science literacy for upper primary students. Nietfeld will also share the results of a recent media comparison study examining the impact of the gamified elements of Missions with Monty on reading comprehension and reading motivation. Time will also be reserved to share recent program updates. Nietfeld welcomes discussions and questions about the development process, challenges, and future goals.
