Over the past four months, we had the great pleasure of hosting Silvia Della Rocca from University of Florence during her research visit to our group. From the very beginning, she became an active member of both our research group and the wider doctoral researchers community. Although her stay has now come to an end, we are delighted that she will continue to participate in our seminars remotely.
In the final research seminar of the spring, Silvia shared reflections on her time with us. She emphasized the importance of a supportive research environment:
-I really valued being part of a research community and having so many opportunities to discuss both my own work and that of others.
Silvia also appreciated the chance to deepen her understanding of research methodologies, attend a career workshop organized by the university, and co-teach a course on digital literacies for international students.
-Being in a new environment, away from daily routines, gave me more time to reflect on my work—something I’ll definitely take with me when I return home.
A particular highlight of her stay was co-organizing the hyprid Digital Reading Seminar for European early career scholars with other EduLit members.
-It was a fantastic collaborative effort and a real highlight of my stay, Silvia noted.
We are truly grateful for having Silvia with us. We look forward to continuing our collaboration also in future.
