In 2026, the theme of Tampere University’s Open Science Award was openness in learning and educational materials. The award was granted to the Tampere team of the CRITICAL project, which has produced research‑based learning materials to promote students’ critical reading skills. The openly accessible materials include resources suitable for use at different levels of education.
The awarded project team was Carita Kiili, Pirjo Kulju, Riikka Anttonen, Reijo Kupiainen, Antero Linstedt, Kristian Kiili ja Elina Hämäläinen. The award was presented at the University’s annual celebration on 15 April 2026 by the Vice Rector for Research, Tapio Visakorpi.
