Welcome to Emerging Technologies Lab!

Emerging Technologies Lab is a research center at Tampere University and a leading research center in Finland for human-centered AI and technology adoption. Our research examines how people experience, adopt, and shape emerging technologies in everyday life, work, and society.

We conduct interdisciplinary social science research with a strong foundation in social psychology on human behavior in technological environments. Our work covers artificial intelligence and robotics, the internet and social media, immersive technologies such as the metaverse and extended reality, and the societal and psychological impacts of technology use, including digital well-being and problematic use.
