Researchers affiliated with the Emerging Technologies Lab have recently published two new peer-reviewed journal articles examining psychological and social dimensions of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies using large-scale international data.
The first article, “Mapping AI learning readiness self-efficacy worldwide: Scale validation and cross-continental patterns”, published in Computers in Human Behavior: Artificial Humans, introduces and validates a new measure of AI Learning Readiness Self-efficacy (AILRSE-5) using large-scale international survey data.
The second article, “User trust in AI and major tech companies in twelve countries”, published in Behaviour & Information Technology, investigates levels of trust in artificial intelligence and leading technology companies across twelve countries. The findings highlight notable cross-national differences and contribute to understanding of how trust in AI and technological actors is shaped by social and cultural contexts.
Together, these publications highlight the international reach and interdisciplinary focus of the ETL and its contribution to research on the psychological, social, and societal implications of rapidly evolving technologies.
