Together with Miguel Alonso from Ecole Centrale de Marseille and Marco Ornigotti from Tampere University, we organized the first “Finnish-French Workshop (FFW) on Structured Light and its Applications”, which took place in Tampere on 3rd – 5th November 2021.
Many of the main research groups working on this topic within both countries were able to participate, even in person, and discuss research and educational collaborations, as well as interactions with the industrial world. In addition to oral presentations by members of each group, the event also included poster sessions, group discussions, and social events.
Participants joined from Université de Bordeaux, Université de Paris, Ecole Centrale de Marseille, and Université Bourgogne Franche-Comté from France. From the Finnish side researchers from Aalto University, University of Eastern Finland, and Tampere University completed the academic participants. Additionally, the French company Cailabs joined in different discussion as an industrial partner.
It was not only great fun to discuss the various aspects of structured light research but also to have finally an in-person meeting again!
A great thx to all participants and the funding agencies, namely the INSTITUT FRANÇAIS, the Photonics flagship PREIN, and Ecole Centrale de Marseille.
