EQO group @ ICOAM 2024

We had a great time at this year's ICOAM in South Africa!

The ICOAM 2024 was held in the Skukuza Lodge in the middle of the Kruger National Park in South Africa. Andrew Forbes and his team did an amazing job to bring the whole community together at this amazing venue!

It was a full week of great physics, interesting discussions, and incredible wildlife. The EQO group was well represented with 3 talks, and 5 posters (see more on that below). One poster being particularly successful -> link.

And we had fun combining our knowledge of structured light and the African wildlife. Interested on how you can use diffraction of light to spot an animal in a far distance, here is what you must look for:

Talks:

  • Matias – Generalized angle-OAM Talbot effect and modulo OAM sorting
  • Rafael –  High-order aberrations of vortex constellations
  • Robert –  Spatio-Spectral Poincare Beams and Higher-Order Poincaré Spheres

Posters:

  • Jaime – Characterizing two-photon frequency correlations via polarization measurements
  • Lea –  Towards single-photon momentum conservation in cascaded spontaneous parametric down-conversion
  • Niladri – Inhomogeneous polarization evolution uncovers PT-transition in non-Hermitian transverse optical beam shift
  • Oussama – Efficient Coupling of Complex Free-Space Modes to Waveguide Eigenmodes
  • Prosenjit – Towards structured beams of low-energy electrons and ions
