MTT-researchers Mervi Kaukko and Inkeri Rissanen are among the recipients of European Educational Research Association (EERA) Global Education Award.
A new, Finnish-German project “Understanding teacher students’ implicit knowledge in regard to diversity, culture and societal change” will bring together researchers from Tampere University, Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg, Germany (Susanne Timm) and University of Oulu (Katri Jokikokko) to explore Finnish and German teacher students’ starting points, beliefs and competencies in relation to their future work in multicultural contexts. An additional aim is to strengthen the partners’ collaboration in the field of global education. The 15 000 € award funds the fieldwork carried out in Finland and Germany in 2021.
