We just moved to TAU! Supramolecular chemistry at the biomaterials interface... with a lot of color!
We are interested on the synthesis of optically active molecules and subsequent (bio)conjugation. We are looking towards applications ranging from solar energy conversion, illumination technologies and light-induced therapies. The research team have a strong organic synthetic background that, with a multidisciplinary approach, place us at the interface between chemistry, physics and biology.
Research topics
- Organic synthesis of aggregation induced emitters (AIEs) and their supramolecular materials
- Mechanochemistry of dyes
- Development of protein-based materials for light-induced therapies and light management
- Synthesis of cellulose-based, self-sterilizing materials
