The doctoral dissertation by SPREAD's Postdoctoral Research Fellow Rosana Rubio-Hernández has been shortlisted in the 'arquia/tesis 2019' competition for doctoral dissertations in Architecture

Rosana’s doctoral dissertation ‘Glass and its Masks. The Dream of Glass Architecture’ (‘El vidrio y sus máscaras. El sueño de la arquitectura de cristal’) has been shortlisted in the 12th Biennial Competition of Doctoral Dissertations in Architecture ‘arquia/tesis 2019’, together with other 13 among a total of 181 dissertations entering the competition.

Organised by Fundación Arquia, arquia/tesis is a prestigious competition for doctoral dissertations with the aim of placing value on the academic work done at doctoral level at the Schools of Architecture in Spain and Portugal. The awarded doctoral works in the next phase of the competition are incorporated into the editorial catalogue of the cultural foundation.

Associate Professor Fernando Nieto’s doctoral dissertation was finalist in the 11th edition of the same competition held in 2017.
