Pediatric neurology

The pediatric neurology multidiciplinary research group promotes the diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation studies in neurological diseases and disabilities in children. The main focus of the research is in epilepsy, cerebral palsy, rehabilitation and sleep disorders. The main topics are:

  • The epidemiological and neuropsychological aspects of childhood epilepsy and prolonged epileptic seizures (status epilepticus)
  • The epidemiology of daytime sleepiness and its correlations with sleeping habits, sleep disorders and other neurological symptoms (e.g. hyperactivity)
  • The use and efficacy of botulinus toxin in the treatment of spasticity in children with cerebral palsy
  • Neurocognitive correlates of cerebral palsy
  • Long-term neurocognitive development of children with hypoglycemia in neonatal period
  • Nursing (pediatric neurology) science
