As you know, COVID-19 has turned this year’s IAMCR conference in Nairobi, Kenya, into an online conference, and participants present their research by way of pre-recorded presentations.
Now you have the chance to join the recording of one of the panels, “Journalism cultures and media in China and Russia: collaborations and complexities”. The panel is organised by the IAMCR Communication in Post- and Neo-Authoritarian Societies Working Group, in co-operation with TaRC.
The panel will be held in Zoom on Tuesday 15 June at 13.00–14.30 Finnish time (EEST, which is UTC/GMT +3 hours). The program features the following presentations:
- Kamilla Nigmatullina (Saint Petersburg State University, Russia): Mapping of fragmented journalism culture in Russia
- Xi Zhu (Renmin University, China): Fragile Friendship? An Analysis of Media Actors’ Network in Sino-Russian Journalistic Collaboration during the Pandemic COVID-19
- Lerong Jia (Communication University of China) and Miao Tang (Communication University of China): A New Model of International Communication: A Case of China and Russia
The seminar will be chaired by Katja Lehtisaari (Tampere University, Finland), Anastasia Grusha (Moscow State University, Russia) and Michael Meyen (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, Germany). Svetlana Pasti (Tampere University) will act as discussant for the presentations.
If you want to participate in the panel recording, please register by Sunday 13 June by using this form. The link to the event will be sent to registered participants before the event.
The recorded event will be made available for IAMCR 2021 conference participants until 11 September 2021.
