Please note this interesting online event on Tuesday 14 December about China's influence in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. You can still sign up!

On the occasion of Kazakhstan’s 30th anniversary of independence, you are cordially invited to 30 Years of Kazakhstan: From the USSR to the Belt and Road Initiative.

The event will launch AidData’s latest report, “Corridors of Power: How Beijing uses economic, social, and network ties to exert influence along the Silk Road,” followed by a panel discussion by the experts in the field about China’s growing presence in Central Asia and Kazakhstan.

The panel discussion, hosted by KIMEP University’s China & Central Asia Studies Center, will then focus on the BRI in Central Asia and Kazakhstan, adding expert opinions to support the report from a regional standpoint.

The event will take place in a hybrid format (online, with limited capacity for in-person participation) and is open to all parties interested in the subject.

It will be held on Tuesday 14 December at 08:00 AM Eastern time (US and Canada) / 15:00 PM Helsinki time / 19:00 PM Almaty time. You may register for the online event here.
