- Guest lecture by Ayo Wahlberg (Professor of Anthropology, University of Copenhagen), hosted by TaSTI, on “Surveillance life – predisposed in welfare state Denmark” on 23 October, Linna 6017 at 10-12, followed by a joint lunch.
- STS networking seminar for early career researchers on 4 December organised by the Finnish Society for Science and Technology Studies (FSSTS) and TaSTI. Linna 6017 at 10-14. More details coming soon.

News and other activities
- Mianna Meskus received funding from the Research Council of Finland for an Academy Project (2026-2030): Populations and reproduction in situated Anthropocene realities: A study on the scientific governing of life forms across the Nordic region (POPULUS).
- Piia Jallinoja received funding from the Research Council of Finland for an Academy Project (2026-2030): Beyond Weight – Mapping the medico-moral terrain on Youth Obesity Care (WEIGHTYOUTH).
- Mika Kautonen received funding from the Team Finland Knowledge program of the Finnish National Agency for Education (2026-2028): Virtual Reality-based teaching and learning in urban and regional planning (VR-4PLAN).
- Pia Vuolanto was appointed to the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (Kansallinen rokotusasiantuntijaryhmä KRAR) for a three year period beginning September 2026. She will give her insight into the varied perceptions and cultures around vaccines in Finnish and European context.
- TaSTI organized a Finnish Namibian seminar titled Circular Economy Prospects on 7 May 2026, with participants representing TAU, TAMK, Namibia University of Science and Technology and University of Namibia. The seminar was linked to the Erasmus+ -funded collaboration between the universities.
