Climate change, biodiversity loss, democracy crisis, and various marginalizing social processes affect the everyday lives of city residents and the existence of other urban species. During the Radical Care for the City week, we ask how – instead of continuous growth on the one hand and demolition and destruction on the other – we can nurture and cherish our built, social, and ecological urban environments. In the current world situation, this question is radical, as it sets empathy before hate and collective responsibility before profit. Hence, we need a radical shift in the way we care with and for our cities.
We are now happy to announce two simultaneous Call of Papers to the conferences organized during the week:

ATUT Symposium 2025: Radical Care for Resilience in the Built Environment
The 17th Annual Symposium of Architectural Research (ATUT) explores the promotion of resilience in the built environment through a radical care lens and approach. Abstracts can be sent to the following themes:
- ATUT 01: Education
- ATUT 02: Energy
- ATUT 03: Digitalisation
- ATUT 04: Ecology

Re-City Conference 2025: Urban Democracy and Radical Care
The 3rd International Re-City Conference focuses on the questions of radical care, justice, democracy, and the city. Abstracts can be sent to the following themes:

- Re-City 03: Social and spatial justice
