TURNS seed event: Social Innovations for Sustainable Urban Development: Socially Innovative Children’s Books

During the event, TURNS visitor Hamoon Tahmassebi (Sharif Sustainable Development School, Iran) will talk about social innovations and how to utilize children’s literature to foster sustainability mindset in underprivileged cities in Iran. Vice Director Aura Lounasmaa from Narrare, the Centre for Interdisciplinary Narrative Studies at Tampere University, acts as a discussant and commentator for the presentation. The event is part of the TURNS seed funded initiative “Social Innovation for Sustainable Development in Small Cities”, and it is organized in collaboration with TURNS and Narrare.

TURNS participates in the Ilmiöareena organised by Rakennustietosäätiö RTS during the Tampere Architecture and Design (TAD) week in Tampere. Welcome to listen to expert and researcher speeches on current and future phenomena in the built environment! The theme of the Ilmiöareena is Resilience, and the event is mainly in Finnish.

TURNS seed event: Back to Urban Nature! workshop

The workshop combines urban nature and modern working life. The event is based on the Re-Think Office! seed project, which is looking for partners for research and stakeholder collaboration. The event is aimed at interested partners and researchers from different fields. The event is in Finnish, but the organizers can also be approached in English if you are interested in the project.

TURNS seed event seminar: Promoting healthier urban environments – Towards pollution free cities

The event is based on the Zero Pollution Cities seed project by the TUNI Urban Physics Research Group. The seminar has been supported also by the STUE action grant. More information to follow later.
