This seminar invites together the STUE community and all of its friends to celebrate and reflect on the research, education, collaboration, and connections developed through STUE. At the same time, the event looks ahead: what have we learned about sustainable urban transformation, what kinds of collaboration do we need to address future urban challenges, and how can the work and networks developed through STUE continue?
The afternoon will feature keynote talks from STUE professors Päivi Kymäläinen, Helena Leino, and Jonathon Taylor, bringing together different perspectives on sustainable urban environments. The keynotes will be followed by a panel discussion exploring current urban challenges and the importance of collaboration across disciplines, institutions, and society. The panel discussion is moderated by Marko Seppänen, who will ask serious questions of Mustafa Dikeç, Markus Laine, and Tiina Rinne.
The seminar will also introduce the Tampere Urban Lab, a platform for developing collaborative urban learning and engagement at Tampere University. Tampere Urban Lab has connected students, researchers and urban development professionals to collaboratively address real-world urban challenges.
The program concludes with closing words from Tampere University Vice President Antti Lönnqvist and a cocktail reception.
