IEEE ICIP 2026 Conference to Be Held in Tampere

The IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP) will take place in Tampere on 13–17 September 2026, bringing together over a thousand experts from academia and industry to discuss the latest advancements in image and video processing and computer vision.

Imaging Days

Tampere is recognized as a leading hub for imaging research, home to more than 30 imaging companies and strong academic expertise. The successful bid to host ICIP 2026 reflects the city’s long-standing innovation and collaboration between research institutions and industry.

The conference is organized by the IEEE Signal Processing Society, with key contributions from Tampere University and local imaging companies.

About me

Atanas Gotchev received the M.Sc. degrees in radio and television engineering (1990) and applied mathematics (1992) and the Ph.D. degree in telecommunications (1996) from the Technical University of Sofia, and the D.Sc.(Tech.) degree in information technologies from the Tampere University of Technology (2003). His research interests have been in sampling and interpolation theory, and spline and spectral methods with applications to multidimensional signal analysis. His recent work concentrates on algorithms for multisensor 3-D scene capture, transform-domain light-field reconstruction, and Fourier analysis of 3-D displays.
