In March 2020 theatre students from Näty, Tampere University and Coventry University (UK) began two weeks of rehearsal of Samuel Beckett’s ‘Waiting for Godot’ using the ‘Immersive Telepresence in Theatre’ system developed by both universities. The system, a combination of the Nimbra Media Server, Polycom Videoconferencing, Black Magic Studio Pro cameras and rear projection attempts to enable real-time rehearsal on a large scale with participants who are geographically distant.
