About
This exploratory workshop series has investigated the emerging, new research area of datafication in the Nordic context. The workshop series deepened the theoretical and empirical understanding of datafication and stimulated environment for cutting-edge research of the field in the Nordic countries. The aim was to explore the challenges of datafication and its inequalizing dimensions while at the same time striving to examine the potentials of data driven knowledge in enhancing social justice.
In the course of three years the workshop series stimulated collaboration between researchers from different countries and academic fields. Due to the novelty of this research area much of the on-going work is scattered to different disciplines. These multidisciplinary workshops brought together researchers from media studies, anthropology, social sciences, history, education, information studies and computational sciences, with a mix of participants from different career stages, from early career researchers to established scholars.
