The focus of this lunch is to discuss the challenges and possibilities in managing sustainability transitions and what roles digital solutions can play. We want to better understand the expertise and interests within our community on this topic. With sustainability transitions, we refer to “systemic changes needed in societies in response to the environmental crisis we are facing” (Huttunen et al 2022). We strive to understand, for example, how traditional management and value creation models should be transformed and how digitalization can support or hinder this. Discussion themes can include:
- What is needed to manage sustainability transitions at organisational and societal levels?
- How digital solutions have been or could be used to drive sustainability transitions from the management point of view?
- Concrete cases where economic metrics and models (conventional or unconventional) have been used to support sustainability transitions
Our goal is to learn together and discover unstudied research areas, emerging opportunities, and potential risks. We encourage you to bring concrete examples, critical questions, and insights from different backgrounds and disciplines.
Lunch and coffee/tea are provided by DigiSus.
To secure your spot, please sign up by 7 November. Space is limited to 25 participants, and registration may close early if all seats are filled. A calendar invitation and further details will be sent to confirmed participants. Please also let us know, if your plans change and you can’t make it.
We look forward to seeing you there! And stay tuned for future Thematic Lunches on social and cultural sustainability!
Best Regards,
