Senior Lecturer, Dr. Radhika Gorur of Deakin University, Australia, spent four weeks (between 12 May and 12 June 2017) as a visiting scholar of the EduKnow research group. Dr. Gorur worked with the BCR research team, commenting on the papers in progress, and making joint research plans together with the research group.
Dr. Gorur gave a keynote lecture at the Escaping Numbers seminar organized by Nelli Piattoeva and Rebecca Boden. Her lecture was titled “Escaping Numbers: Intimate Accounting and the challenge to numbers in Australia’s Education Revolution”. Dr. Gorur’s keynote lecture was commented by another invited scholar, Dr. Arathi Sriprakash of the University of Cambridge.
Dr. Radhika Gorur is a DECRA Fellow at Deakin University, and a Director of the Laboratory of International Assessment Studies – one of EduKnow’s research network affiliations. She has nearly 30 years of experience in teaching and leadership positions in schools in Nigeria, India, Oman and Australia.
Arathi Sriprakash is a university lecturer at the Sociology of Education at the University of Cambridge. She is a Joint Editor for International Studies in Sociology of Education.
