Professor Fazal Rizvi (University of Melbourne) visiting Finland in mid-June. He will give the following public talks at the Universities of Tampere and Helsinki:

Fazal Rizvi is a Professor of Global Studies in Education at the University of Melbourne Australia, as well as an Emeritus Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the United States. He has written extensively on issues of identity and culture in transnational contexts, globalization and education policy and Australia-Asia relations
The lectures are organised in co-operation between research groups in two universities: the Research Unit focusing on the Sociology and Politics of Education (KUPOLI, University of Helsinki), Knowledge, Power, and Politics in Education (EduKnow, University of Tampere), Higher Education Group (HEG, University of Tampere), and Tampere Research Group for Cultural and Political Sociology (TCuPS, University of Tampere). The lecture series is supported by the Faculty of Education, University of Tampere and the Faculty of Educational Sciences, University of Helsinki.
