Nelli Piattoeva, Anni Klutas and Olli Suominen contributed a chapter to the recently published World Yearbook of Education. Their chapter, entitled “Making and mobilizing contexts in policy and research” challenges the notion of context as a container, and instead posits that content and context are co-productions, and actors – the researchers and the researched – are co-producers of the phenomena and the contexts in which the phenomena occur. The volume was edited by Radhika Gorur, Sam Sellar and Gita Steiner-Khamsi and it is focused on the methodologies of educational research in the era of Big Data and global networks.
