Current projects

LiverTarget

LiverTarget is an EU-funded Research and Innovation Action project designed to develop a new generation of advanced RNA therapeutics that will reduce disease burden e.g. myocardial infarct and will improve their quality of life in the future, if the lead compound(s) successfully pass the phase 1-3 clinical trials after this project. LiverTarget will significantly boost European innovation capacity in the field of personalized nanomedicines using unique RNA technology. We expect that this innovative approach will later lead to beneficial health economic implications as it may lower the costs per quality- adjusted life year.

SMASH-HCM PROJECT

SMASH-HCM, an initiative focused on transforming the landscape of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM). Our project aims to develop a cutting-edge digital-twin platform, integrating dynamic biophysical models and data-driven insights for personalized HCM stratification and improved disease management. Join us in advancing the state of the art in human digital-twins, delivering new insights, enhanced patient care, and a validated strategy through a pilot clinical trial.

CVDLINK

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading cause of death worldwide, responsible for 17.9 million fatalities per year, according to the WHO. In Europe, this number is growing, incurring staggering costs to human life, healthcare systems, and society more broadly.

CVDLINK approaches this problem by applying innovative solutions to an everyday tool: data.

First, we’ll integrate multimodal data sets from hospitals, researchers, and health authorities across Europe and Israel, translating them into a uniform format while paying close attention to the ethical and legal principles regulating the management of sensitive health data.

Next, we’ll develop AI models which will analyse this unified dataset and produce tools to aid in the prevention, diagnosis, and risk stratification of CVDs. These will be available via CVDLINK’s Platform as a Service (PaaS), which will offer custom visualisations to healthcare practitioners and researchers in the cardiovascular domain. Finally, we’ll perform studies in five countries to validate our outputs and ensure they meet the needs of our end users.

CVDLINK pairs routine health data with cutting-edge technology to provide effective, evidence-driven interventions with the potential to transform public health. Along the way, the project’s interdisciplinary team, which includes ethicists, clinicians, tech developers, and communication experts, aims to build trust in AI and data-powered medical tools.

ThrombUS+

The ThrombUS+ project is focused on developing a novel wearable diagnostic device to aid in the early detection and diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). The project integrates cutting-edge technologies, including ultrasound, artificial intelligence, light reflection rheography, plethysmography, serious games, and extended reality, to create a comprehensive and user-friendly monitoring system. ThrombUS+ aims to provide patients and healthcare professionals with real-time insights, enhancing DVT diagnosis and treatment.
