The Tampere University Fire Laboratory is an independent expert organization. We offer, according to the client’s needs, R & D related fire testing and assessment or accredited fire testing.
Our combination furnace allows fire testing of large-scale vertical (3 m x 3 m) and horizontal (3 m x 4 m) specimens. We carry out both load-bearing and non-load-bearing tests on horizontal test specimens. In addition, a small-scale electric oven is available for material testing.
Accreditation demonstrates our competence as a testing laboratory based on international criteria. The results of accredited testing prove the fire safety of materials and products as required by authorities, market or users. The acceptable results allow issuing and maintaining of approvals and certificates. Based on the test results, we also provide SFS-EN 13501-2 compliant classification reports to prove the conformance of building products.
Our laboratory testing procedures comply with SFS-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and meet the requirements of EN-standards.

The scope of our accreditation is also available at the website of the National Accreditadion Body FINAS, www.finas.fi. Our Laboratory reference code is T300. Our accredited testing is covered by the international ILAC MRA agreement and we are a member of the EGOLF group of fire testing organisations.
