TIKARI – Roadmap to infrastructure productivity
The TIKARI project was a preliminary study that aimed to answer the following questions:
- What are the productivity bottlenecks in the infrastructure sector?
- What is the potential of new technologies to improve productivity?
- What topics/areas should be further studied/explored in follow-up projects?
The TIKARI project was carried out between June 2019 and January 2020. The study was commissioned by the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency. Many experts were involved in the work at various stages. Their expertise covered different sectors, e.g. design, contracting, construction, maintenance, asset management, various client organisations, financial management, new technologies and project management. The experts were interviewed by the research team, and they attended three workshops during the project.
The leader of the research team was professor Kalle Vaismaa. The team also included other experts from Research Centre Terra and the department of Construction Management and Economics.
