M.Sc. Ella Plaami started as a researcher in the project “Usability of substance abuse client segmentation in service planning and its effects on client well-being and substance abuse” (SEGMENT) as part of the TreAdd research group, beginning in August. Plaami had previously worked in the project as a research assistant and will now continue as a researcher until the end of this year.
Plaami’s background in health sciences has provided a foundation, particularly in research methodology skills and familiarity with social- and healthcare service systems. In the SEGMENT project as well, Plaami’s research interests align with key public health themes, such as addressing inequality and ensuring equity in substance abuse services. Furthermore, Plaami possesses experience in service pathway development, which contributes to her interest in service system enhancement, particularly from a service pathway perspective. Plaami aspires to pursue to doctoral studies to comprehensively research the aforementioned themes using multiple methodologies.
