Can Buildings Be Good for You? Designing the Shape of Wellbeing
TURNS Guest Talk by Dana Behrman
- Time: Thursday 1 October 2026, at 15:30-17 (changes possible)
- Place: Architecture Unit, Rakennustalo RO107, concrete stairs (Korkeakoulunkatu 5, Hervanta campus, Tampere University)
- The event is free and open to all, no pre-registration required.
Dana Behrman, Director and Senior Urban Designer at UNS, will explore how health can be embedded in design across many scales, from education and research to urban planning and healthcare environments. In this talk, she will share how UNS sees wellbeing not simply as a specialist field, but as a design question that influences space, movement, comfort, social connection, and everyday life.
Coffee will be served starting from 15:30 in the 2nd-floor lobby of the Rakennustalo, and the talk starts at 16. There will be time for discussion and mingling after the talk. On Friday 2 October, Dana will hold a keynote talk at the Architecture and Cities in Transition seminar.
