A new PhD student joins our Team

Julián Laverde completed his bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics at the National University of Colombia with his thesis focused on computational modeling of partially polarized electromagnetic fields. He recently graduated with a master’s degree in Photonics Technologies from Tampere University and a master’s in Physics from Aix-Marseille University in the joint master’s degree program Europhotonics .

For his master’s thesis, Julián worked at the Laboratory of Photonics and Quantum Measurements (LPQM) at EPFL, Switzerland, where he explored photonic integrated circuits for sensing applications.

He will now pursue a PhD in nonlinear photonic integrated circuits, advancing research at the intersection of nonlinear optics and integrated photonics.
