Image/Knowledge develops new forms of photojournalism, taking into account advances in digital technology, needs of the professional field and latest research related to the field. The project is particularly interested in the connections between images and knowledge, and considers photojournalists as information visualizers. The perspective of the project is social scientific and humanistic, but it also considers the impact of visual technologies, devices and databases on imagery and visual cultures.
Image/knowledge maps research on visual communication and media, develops teaching on visual journalism at the university level, and ponders future visual skills in the media sector.
