Celiac Disease Research Center includes a service laboratory that provides diagnostic tests for health care providers and researchers. The following tests available in our service laboratory:
Serum samples:
– IgA- and IgG -class endomysium (EMA) antibodies
– IgA- and IgG- class tissue transglutaminase (tTG) antibodies
– IgA- and IgG -class gliadinpeptide (DGP) antibodies
Gliadinpeptide- and tissue transglutaminase antibodies are detected by an ELISA method. Endomysium antibodies (IgA and IgG) are detected by indirect immunofluorescence method using human umbilical cord as antigen.
Small bowel biopsy (frozen samples):
– Immunological markers of celiac disease latency: density of intraepithelial CD3 positive T cells, alpha-beta T cells and gamma-delta T cells. Expression of HLA-DR.
– Transglutaminase specific IgA deposits.
From each test a statement will be given by Katri Kaukinen (Professor) and Heidi Kontro (PhD, post doc).
Instruction when sending samples by mail:
Sera (0.5 – 1.0 ml) for antibody tests can be sent at room temperature or in cold box.
Small bowel biopsy specimens must be sent in dry ice: The jejunal biopsy is freshly embedded in optimal cutting temperature (OCT) compound and frozen in liquid nitrogen, sealed in airtight bag and stored in -70° C before sending.
Maksupalvelulaboratorio
Keliakiatutkimuskeskuksessa toimii maksupalvelulaboratorio, joka tuottaa terveydenhuollon ja tutkijoiden käyttöön keliakian diagnostisia testejä. – Värjäykset tehdään jääleikkeistä
– Latentin keliakian markkerit (CD3, alfa-beta- ja gamma-delta T-solut ja DR- värjäys.
– Keliakialle tyypilliset transglutaminaasispesifiset IgA- kertymät
