About me
Prof. Miia Martinsuo, D. Sc. (Tech.), is Professor of Industrial Management at Tampere University, Department of Industrial Engineering and Management. Prof. Martinsuo has over 15 years of academic experience in project and service business, and 9 years of development and management experience in international firms and the public sector on strategy, organization and business process development, particularly in the metal and engineering industry. Martinsuo has published over 200 articles, book chapters or books in the domains of project business, product development management, process innovations and organization changes and she is an active speaker and coach in continuing education programs.
Responsibilities
Prof. Martinsuo teaches, leads research and collaborates with industry in the society. She leads the research group Center for Research on Project and Service Business (CROPS) and the doctoral program in Business and Technology Management. Her field of research and teaching is project and service business. Her current research interests include: value creation and organizing in project business; managing project portfolios and change programs; decision making, control and performance in projects; front end of radical innovations; process innovations in manufacturing; and transformation of industrial firms toward service business. Her teaching deals with managing and developing industrial service business, managing project business, organization theories, and doctoral education.

D.Sc. (Tech.) Jere Lehtinen is a Senior Research Fellow at Tampere University, Industrial Engineering and Management, Center for Research on Project and Service Business (CROPS). Lehtinen has around 10 years of experience in various research and teaching activities in Finnish and foreign universities. Lehtinen has published several peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters related to project management and project business. Lehtinen has received both national and international accolades for his research.
Responsibilities
Dr. Lehtinen is both a researcher and teacher. His research relates to management of complex projects (e.g., infrastructure and industrial projects) that involve a challenging multi-actor environment where organizations must collaborate across sector and organizational boundaries. His current research topics include: Stakeholder engagement and collaboration, Governance, contracting and contracts, Collaborative projects, Virtual project management and virtual project work, Sustainability and value creation, and Simulations and games.
