Professor Fazal Rizvi from the Global Studies in Education at the University of Melbourne Australia, as well as an Emeritus Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the United States, was in Tampere University for a presentation on the “challenges of transnational research collaborations in contemporary higher education” on June 13.
Drawing on data collected in Australia, in his presentation Professor Rizvi discusses on the nature of the challenges of this kind of collaborations, and the ways in which Australian universities have sought to address them, especially in their attempts to develop research links with research centers in Asia.
The presentation was completed with a rich discussion on the topic presented with the researchers and students in the audience, including debate on similar studies in progress focusing in different countries.
