Sci-Fi Helps Explore Interaction with Technologies Inducing Altered States of Mind
Science fiction analysis is becoming an increasingly important approach to critically examining technological futures in HCI. As part of the DIAL project, funded by Kone Foundation, our research team used this approach to explore mind-altering technologies. We analysed 25 science fiction novels to explore how people might interact with them and what these interactions could mean for the present and the future.
