Welcome to the Intersectionality Research Network’s (InReNet) Doctoral Researchers’ Peer-Support Group!

The Intersectionality Research Network (InReNet, see https://research.tuni.fi/inrenet/) brings together researchers and doctoral students from different disciplinary backgrounds at Tampere University to explore and develop intersectionality as a theoretical approach and research practice. We also promote university teaching that takes into account the experiences and positions of different marginalized groups in society, and we collaborate with such groups both within and outside academia.
During our Spring Online meeting, we decided to start a peer-support group for doctoral researchers that focuses on working together on intersectionality in research. The group is open to all doctoral researchers in all disciplines and research topics. Our aim is to discuss intersectionality, share ideas and learn from each other’s experiences in research. We can plan workshops for writing papers, funding applications and learning about intersectionality with senior researchers.
Our first meeting will consist of introducing ourselves and planning steps for next semester. If there are any specific topics you’d like to cover during the meeting or have any questions, feel free to bring them up in the meeting. Even if your research does not specifically include the term intersectionality, but you are researching issues around the theme; or are interested in the matter, you are welcome to join! The group is open for anyone who might find it helpful and wants to contribute to discussions and peer-support.
