Spaces of Confinement Symposium presented the results of the Academy of Finland project

Spaces of Confinement Symposium on December 2nd, 2022 presented the results of the project “Spaces of confinement in the institutions of care and control in Finland” funded by the Academy of Finland and led by Päivi Kymäläinen. The symposium gathered the researchers of the project and the top scholars from Finland, the UK and Sweden. Ebba Högström talked about post-deinstitutional landscapes,  Dominique Moran’s speech was about possibilities that researchers have to influence the actual practices. Chris Philo gave an insight about the history of the confinement and suggestions for the future research. In the panel discussion Judith Pallot, Lauri Kuosmanen, Kristian Wahlbeck and Virve Repo discussed care and control in institutions.
