About me
I'm working on my PhD, especially focusing on the role of emotions and activating teaching methods in engineering higher education. I'm interested in investigating what kind of student emotions are enhanced with activating teaching procedures, and what is the role of those emotions in students' active learning processes. I aim at providing more information on how one can consider the role of emotions in teaching, and how to plan and use teaching methods that enhance student emotions that are favourable for learning.

About me
Currently, I am working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Tampere Institute of Advanced Study, where my research focuses on investigating resilience in higher education in war- and conflict-affected contexts. Over the past nine years, I have explored various aspects of university teachers' professional development. My doctoral research (2015-2020) investigated their innovativeness and willingness to change. Additionally, I worked as a data analyst and consultant for the capacity building e-Training FinPal project (March 2017–May 2020). Following this, I led a TAU-funded postdoctoral project Developing Digital Pedagogics (2020-2021) that examined online teaching expertise during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, I was awarded a one-year grant to further explore Online Teaching Expertise in Conflict-Affected Regions, with a particular focus on Palestine/Gaza.
