Mailing list
The network maintains a mailing list (filjatko@lists.tuni.fi) distributing information relevant for doctoral researchers. The list was originally founded for the predecessor of the current network, the Doctoral Programme of Philosophy (1995-2015). The members and the supervisors of doctoral researchers can join to the list by sending an e-mail to the coordinator Tommi Vehkavaara.
Travel grants
The network provides a possibility to apply travel grants for PhD researchers in order to attend in national and international events. Decisions are currently made two times in a year – look HERE about the deadlines of the next round and the detailed instructions of the applications. In the evaluation of the applications both the academic significance of the conference and its relevance to doctoral dissertation will be assessed. The application (to be sent to tommi.vehkavaara@tuni.fi) can be freely formulated, but it should be as brief and clear as possible, and include all the needed details.
Doctoral congresses
The network organizes doctoral congresses for the doctoral researchers annually. The first seven congresses were held in October 2016-2019 and 2021-2023 in Tampere. The network aims to provide the accommodation for the participants and to recruit a competent commentator for each paper.
For a doctoral researcher, the participation in the congress requires the acceptance of submitted abstract and registration with full paper to be sent to the commentator (the paper should be 8-12 pages in length, and presentable in about 20 minutes).
The abstracts and papers should be sent via e-mail to tommi.vehkavaara@tuni.fi
PhD courses, seminars, and other events
The members of the network are allowed to attend in PhD level philosophy courses that are organized by any philosophy units participated in the network.
