About us
Research for lifelong health and wellbeing
TamCAM is built on the understanding that health and well-being during pregnancy, childhood, and adolescence shape outcomes across the entire life course. We conduct high-impact, interdisciplinary research that addresses these critical stages holistically, integrating physical and mental health perspectives and drawing on strengths in medicine, psychology, public health, epidemiology, and data science.
Since its launch in 2021, TamCAM has grown into a vibrant and productive research community, contributing to scientific advances, improving care practices, and training a new generation of researchers. During its first five year period, the center produced over 700 peer‑reviewed publications and supported the completion of 24 doctoral theses at Tampere University.
Building on this strong foundation, our next five-year strategy (2026–2030) focuses on translating scientific excellence into real-world impact. We foster collaboration across research groups, support early-career researchers, and strengthen national and international partnerships to improve care, inform policy, and advance health systems.
By combining rigorous research, innovative methods including AI-driven analytics, and active engagement with healthcare providers and society, TamCAM seeks to improve health outcomes in Finland and beyond.
