New Scoping Review Explores Impact of Pregnancy Interventions on Childhood Obesity Risk

A new scoping review by the TamCAM research center at Tampere University has been published in Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica. The review investigates how lifestyle-based and psychological interventions during pregnancy affect the risk of obesity and related metabolic complications in children.

🔍 The review found that only a limited number of studies followed children beyond the age of two. The observed effects on child weight were modest, and interpretation is complicated by a considerable risk of bias in the existing research.
