The TaSSu research collective (Tampere Centre for Societal Sustainability) works on societal transformations and their implications. Our work is characterized by a human-centered approach.
We aim to produce conceptual and empirical knowledge on inclusive practices, needs-based social innovations, democracy and people’s opportunities to influence their everyday lives, their environments, and society at large.
The thematic areas are closely intertwined. The division into three thematic areas: 1) citizens, cities, communities; 2) well-being, equality, inclusion and everyday life; 3) governance and politics, are the structure of primary perspectives from which our researchers and projects approach societal sustainability.
