Research centre Terra in Tampere University is organizing the 21st Nordic Seminar on Railway Technology. The seminar will take place on 21-22 June 2022 at Solo Sokos Hotel Torni Tampere in Tampere, Finland. The traditional seminar will be held for the first time in Finland.
The theme of the seminar is Life-cycle efficient railway systems in urbanizing environment. The objective of the seminar is to gather colleagues especially from the Nordic (and Baltic) countries that are active in the railway field. This includes staff from universities, institutes, authorities, manufacturers, operators, maintenance companies, and consultants. Topics to be presented and discussed comprise both infrastructure and vehicle issues, and all the phases of design, construction, operation and maintenance.
Especially, topics related to light rail systems, infill construction next to railways, international railway connections and environmental aspects are warmly welcome. Topics related to railway structure, rolling stock, wheel rail interaction, life-cycle efficiency, etc. are also very welcome.
