Treatment effectiveness can be measured on a client-oriented basis by examining change in well-being and hopefulness

An article by Eeva Ekqvist and Katja Kuusisto on Changes in clients’ well-being (ORS) and state hope (SHS) during inpatient substance abuse treatment was published today in the journal Nordic Studies on Alcohol and Drugs. The article examines the change in clients’ well-being and hopefulness during inpatient substance abuse treatment. Assessments during treatment can inform clinical decision-making and measure its effectiveness. Since there are emerging requirements for effectiveness and progress monitoring imposed by funders, it is important to find ethical and client-oriented ways to measure treatment effectiveness.
