TRELIS: Studying religion and society
TRELIS fosters cross-disciplinary discussion and research on the social scientific study of religion and spirituality. Research projects, seminars, and teaching focus on the question: How does religion fit into modern society?
TRELIS: Tampere research group on Religion and Society
TRELIS welcomes and engages theoretical, empirical, and methodological research from all social scientific disciplines and on all religious traditions and forms of spirituality. Encompassing contemporary as well as historical studies, TRELIS organizes a seminar with a global scope, including relational perspectives on transnational connections and institutions. In AY 2024-25, TRELIS jointly organizes its seminar with TCuPS – Tampere research group on Cultural & Political Sociology
