Securitizing the Grand Helsinki Mosque

PhD candidate Muhammad Ahsan Qureshi presented one of the empirical chapters of his monograph. In the chapter he analyzes how media coverage of the proposed Grand Helsinki Mosque project was constructed such that the project became seen as a security issue. His analysis shed light on how security related issues, policies, and incidents from other countries were domesticated to fit within the Finnish context.
