We are delighted to announce that Tampere University will host Professor Daniel Peplow, a renowned expert from the University of Washington’s Department of Health Systems and Population Health, USA. Professor Peplow will deliver an insightful presentation on April 16, 2025, highlighting his pioneering work in global health and environmental toxicology.
Prof. Peplow serves as Clinical Professor at the University of Washington and as Director of Environmental Toxicology and Health at the Suriname Indigenous Health Fund. His notable expertise includes collaboration with international organizations such as the United Nations, Organization of American States, World Bank, and the G20, addressing critical health issues influenced by international policies and practices.
In his presentation, Prof. Peplow will share experiences from his extensive professional journey and ongoing research initiatives. Additionally, he will explore possibilities for collaboration and outline innovative strategies to tackle complex health challenges faced by socially isolated and marginalized indigenous populations, especially regarding health implications arising from globalization, economic development, and resource extraction.
