On December 9, 2024, the WHO Global Knowledge Network for Health Equity (GKNHE) and our Centre hosted a webinar titled Unpacking Social Protection for Health Equity. The event brought together policymakers, researchers, and experts to explore the critical role of social protection in advancing health equity.
Participants gained insights into the links between social protection measures and systemic barriers to health, with discussions highlighting intersectoral strategies and innovative policy integration approaches. Expert presentations showcased real-world examples, including the role of social protection in addressing tuberculosis and fostering equity through eco-social contracts.
A dynamic panel discussion, followed by an engaging Q&A session, enriched the event by addressing both challenges and opportunities in this domain. The webinar was hailed as an informative platform for advancing global collaboration toward health equity.
